Annual Review 2023 – Expansion of our European sales network

2023 was a year of strategic development for SMELA. Following the strong growth of recent years, we have systematically expanded our distribution network to bring our electric drive systems even closer to users across Europe. With five new distributors in Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, Switzerland, Italy and France, we are strengthening our presence in key markets and laying the foundations for long-term partnerships, technical excellence and sustainable innovation.

Our new partners – Aratron, Groneman, Girmatic, Smart Automation Srl and TSA – stand for quality, technical expertise and a clear focus on modern automation solutions. Together, we are continuing to drive forward the electrification of industrial motion processes.

Aratron AB – Sweden

Location: Solna (Stockholm), Sweden

Specialising in: linear technology, drive systems, automation components

Aratron AB has been supplying Swedish industry with mechanical and electromechanical components for rotary and linear motion since 1971. The company is part of the Addtech Group and is renowned for technical precision, bespoke solutions and many years’ experience in automation. With a team of highly qualified application engineers and product specialists, Aratron represents over 20 leading manufacturers worldwide– an ideal platform for establishing SMELA actuators in Scandinavian applications.

Groneman BV – Netherlands

Location: Hengelo, Netherlands

Specialising in: drive technology, linear systems, motion control

Groneman BV is a renowned supplier of components and systems for industrial automation and motion technology. With decades of experience in the integration of linear systems, gearboxes and control solutions, Groneman supports companies in the Benelux countries in implementing precise and efficient motion processes. The partnership with SMELA expands the portfolio to include compact electric actuators for applications where energy efficiency and precision are crucial.

Girmatic AG –Switzerland

Specialising in: hydraulics, mobile drives, automation systems

Girmatic AG stands for innovation, quality and a passion for technology. The company was founded in 2006 by Christoph Girsberger and has established itself as a specialist in industrial and mobile hydraulics as well as automation. With comprehensive expertise in engineering, assembly and system integration, Girmatic offers bespoke solutions for demanding applications. The partnership with SMELA combines Swiss precision with German engineering expertise – for energy-efficient, durable and intelligent drive systems.

Smart Automation Srl – Italy

Specialising in: Industrial automation, robotics, mechatronic systems, high-performance automation

Smart Automation Srl is an Italian supplier of automation components, robotics and integrated engineering solutions. Since 1998, the company has been supporting customers in sectors such as packaging, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals and medical technology in implementing modern production processes. Smart Automation combines technical expertise with bespoke system integration and, with SMELA, is expanding its portfolio to include compact, energy-efficient electric actuators for demanding industrial applications.

TSA –Technologies et Systèmes d’Automatisation – France

Location: Taverny (Paris), France

Specialising in: motion control, micro-positioning, extreme environments (vacuum, cryogenic, radiation, cleanroom

TSA was founded in 1986 and is a highly specialised provider of motorisation, positioning and micro-positioning solutions for high-tech industrial and scientific applications. The company supplies sectors such as optics, optronics, research, medical technology, aerospace and the military. TSA is renowned for solutions that operate under extreme conditions – including ultra-vacuum (down to 10⁻¹¹ mbar), cryogenic temperatures, cleanrooms and radiation environments. In addition to motors and micro-positioning systems, TSA also offers innovative solutions for cooling, mounting systems and precision motion.

With SMELA, TSA is expanding its portfolio to include compact electric linear actuators that are ideally suited to applications where reliability, precision and more challenging environmental conditions converge.
